About Me

mids

Fulgencia Vega-Goins, L.M.H.C    (I SPEAK FLUENTLY IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH)

I am a culturally-sensitive licensed mental health counselor who has been working in the mental health field since 1987. I completed my practicum in the Goodman Psychological Center, where I conducted psychological testing, psychological assessments, and psychotherapy.  I have worked in the public sector, which includes jails, prisons, schools, in-patient and out-patient settings, and in private practice.

I have expertise in conducting mental health assessments, psychotherapy, couple counseling, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, group therapy, cross cultural counseling, and immigration mental health evaluations for the extreme hardship waiver, U-Visa, T-Visa, political asylum, and VAWA.  I do the evaluations in the office or online.

I  am a graduate of Albizu University.  I have a Master Degree in Psychology, and I have completed all my doctoral coursework.

I have a passion for helping people and couples who are hurting, going through emotional issues, and struggling with their life.

My therapeutic approach is eclectic; it is a style of therapy that uses techniques drawn from several different schools of thought, which allows the therapist to adapt to each client’s individual needs.

I am a qualified supervisor for unlicensed mental health counselors.
